Mothers and Educators' Perspectives on Sex Education of Children Between 3 and 5 Years Old: A Qualitative Study

Introduction: Preschool sex education plays an important role in endorsing sexual health. Objective: This qualitative study aims to determine the mothers’ and trainers’ perspectives regarding of 3-5 years old children living Karaj City, Iran. Materials Methods: The participations were 20 mothers 10 kindergarten trainers. To collect data, semi-structured deep interviews held with them within 2 months. Interviews went on until data saturation. Simple random sampling was used choose kindergartens purposeful select samples according inclusion criteria maximum diversity. recorded after permission obtained from typed instantly. Qualitative content analysis analyze data. Results: In this study, aged 27 51 trainers 25 40 participated. After analyzing 92 codes, three main categories one subcategories extracted. extracted themes “sex requirements” situations.” Based results, did not have a specific definition education. Most participants believed that must start family. Furthermore, interviewed thought, “You lie children.” Some mother is responsible for child’s education, while some analogy.
